In September 2024, commercial banks removed transaction fees related to no maintenance fee accounts in accordance with the Central Bank of Barbados' Market Conduct Guideline. As a result, all commercial banks now carry a “no fee account” which eliminates both maintenance and transaction fees.
In addition, Republic Bank (Barbados) Limited discontinued its previous minimum chequing account (the Personal Chequing Account) in September 2024 and so the Optimizer Account has assumed that position. The table of select fees has been updated accordingly.
