Career Opportunity: Chief Policy Analyst, Research and Economic Analysis Department

Job Summary

To provide operational and administrative support in the formulation and management of economic policy documents and to coordinate the policy reports of the department

Key Duties and Responsibilities:


The duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating all technical reports and operational activities of a policy-based nature
  • Coordinating the department’s public outreach programme
  • Participating in active research on general economic issues affecting Barbados and Caribbean economies
  • Preparing background papers that inform policy advice to the Bank’s management, especially on regional integration and international trade negotiations
  • Supervising the preparation of all external requests for macroeconomic support
  • Providing editorial support on operational reports originating in the Policy and Operations Units
  • Supervising Research staff members in the production of policy analysis, provides guidance to colleagues, initiates projects, leads project teams and suggests new strategy
    • Maintaining technical and professional competence by participating and making presentations in domestic, regional and international conferences
    • Contributing to executive team by accomplishing any other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
  • A Masters Degree in Economics with at least three (3) year’s practical experience in economic research. 
  • Proficiency in database, spreadsheet and word processing applications would be an asset
Relationships

Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with all members of staff, representatives of national, regional and international agencies and the general public.
