Managing Cybersecurity Threats in the Financial Sector

Author(s): Central Bank Of Barbados

Barbadians are increasingly doing more of their banking and other financial transactions online, a transition that was accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Online banking and e-commerce offer several benefits, among them convenience and efficiency, but it also brings with it a degree of risk.

In the first session of the 2022 Domestic Financial Institutions Conference series, Patricia Rowe-Seale, Director, Enterprise Security, Fraud and Supplier Risk Management, CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank; Ryan Greaves: Chief Technology Officer, City of Bridgetown Co-operative Credit Union; and Jason Downey, Vice President of the Barbados Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association, who is also the IT Security, Privacy and Governance Manager for Massy Integrated Retail Portfolio, reflect on recent cybersecurity incidents in the Caribbean, and discuss best practice for individuals, the financial sector, and Barbados.
