Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados(CBB), Dr. Delisle Worrell has been elected as CARICOM’s representative on the Board of Governors of the Centro Estudios Monetarios Latino Americano (CEMLA)
Governor Worrell, who will serve for two years, was elected at CEMLA’s recent assembly in Cartagena, Colombia. He replaces the Governor of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago.
Other representatives on the CEMLA Board of Governors are from Colombia (chair), Mexico Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela and El Salvador, which represents the Central American group. The Board meets twice a year - in a member country and in Washington D.C. at the time of the Annual Meetings of the IMF and World Bank. The CBB was last on CEMLA's Board during the period 2001 to 2003.
