Five schools in St. Michael now have additional funds to complete any project of their choice, thanks to the Central Bank of Barbados.
The Bank donated the funds to three primary schools – Belmont Primary, St. Giles Primary, and St. Stephen’s Primary – and two secondary institutions, Springer Memorial School and the St. Leonard’s Boys’ Choir.
Over the years, the Bank has supported cultural and educational ventures, particularly across the country. “The Bank is happy to continue a rich legacy of giving back to society, started by our founding father, the late Sir Courtney Blackman, just over 50 years ago to contribute to overall social and economic development,” Chief of Corporate Communications, Novaline Brewster, told the recipients.
The schools thanked the Bank for its generosity and indicated they were happy to have been selected.
