Barbados’ new credit reporting legislation is being explained to the public before it goes into effect.
Following an appearance on the popular call-in programme “Down to Brass Tacks” in early January, members of the technical working group that advised on the drafting of the Fair Credit Reporting Act recently participated in CBC TV8’s “The People’s Business” to explain what is included in the legislation and how it will impact the average Barbadian.
During the 90-minute programme, Elson Gaskin, the working group’s Co-Chair and Bank Secretary at the Central Bank of Barbados, along with fellow attorneys-at-law Sherise King and Sasha Shillingford, the latter of whom was The Barbados Bankers’ Association’s representative in the group, also took questions from the show’s viewers.
