Since 1981, the Central Bank of Barbados’ Annual Review Seminar has served as a vital forum for researchers, policymakers, and academics to engage in insightful discussions and explore policy-driven solutions to pressing regional and global economic and financial issues.
This year, it is our pleasure to invite you to our 45th Annual Review Seminar to be held in Bridgetown, Barbados from July 21 to 25, 2025.
The Caribbean region demonstrated remarkable resilience in 2024, achieving further growth following its economic recovery in 2023. However, disruptive global dynamics, including advancements in artificial intelligence, rising cyber threats, escalating climate risks, macroeconomic uncertainties, and potential geopolitical tensions, threaten the region’s macroeconomic stability.
This year’s Annual Review Seminar, themed “From Recovery to Resilience: Ensuring Macroeconomic Stability Amid Emerging Risks,” seeks to foster the exchange of innovative research and critical perspectives on crafting robust tools to assess emerging risks and to deepen the understanding of the pass-through effects of global dynamics on small open economies.

We invite persons interested in presenting papers on the above seminar topics to submit an abstract by Friday, June 6, 2025.
Abstracts should be no longer than 150 words, with keywords and JEL codes listed. The relevance and objective(s) of the study, as well as its main findings and conclusions should be clearly identified in the abstract.
