(Washington, D.C.) The Group of Thirty today released Policies for Stabilization and Growth in Small Very Open Economies, by Dr. DeLisle Worrell, Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados.
Jean-Claude Trichet, Chairman of the Group of Thirty, stated: "We are delighted to continue our Occasional Paper series with a paper from Dr. Worrell concerning growth of small very open economies. This paper sheds light on policies for stabilization specific to these states."
"Small economies can’t use the same tools as large economies. They face a rigid foreign exchange rate constraint that affects monetary, fiscal, and exchange rate policy," explained Dr. Worrell.
He continued, “This paper explains concepts critical to the growth of small states and offers recommendations for achieving stabilization through policy.”
